Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Welcome to Moodoro! This Privacy Policy describes how Moodoro (operated by an individual developer, "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Moodoro mobile application (the "App") and related services. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Contact: [email protected]
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide Directly:
- Email address, name/username, and account information when you register or sign in (including via Google or Apple sign-in).
- Mood and wellness data you choose to log within the App, such as mood entries, focus session history, and brain training activity.
- Any content you voluntarily submit (e.g., feedback, support requests).
Information Collected Automatically:
- Device information (model, operating system, version).
- App usage data and interaction patterns (e.g., session length, features used).
- Crash logs and diagnostic data.
- Advertising and analytics identifiers, subject to your consent/permissions as described in Section 3.
2. A Note on Mood Data
Moodoro's mood-tracking feature lets you log how you're feeling for personal wellness and reflection purposes. This is not medical, clinical, or diagnostic data, and Moodoro is not a healthcare service. We treat mood data with additional care:
- Mood data is used only to power features within the App (e.g., your personal history, trends, and statistics) and is not used for advertising or shared with advertising or data-broker third parties.
- Where required by applicable law (e.g., GDPR in the EU/UK), we rely on your explicit consent to process this data, which you may withdraw at any time by deleting your mood entries or your account.
3. Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
We use Google Analytics and Firebase to understand app usage and improve the App.
Google Ads / AdMob. Moodoro displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. To deliver and measure these ads, Google may collect and process your advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS / Android Advertising ID), device information, approximate location, and app interaction data, and may use this information to personalize ads you see, subject to your choices below. Google's use of this data is governed by the Google Ads/AdMob Privacy & Terms and Google's own privacy policy.
Apple App Tracking Transparency (iOS). Because AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier for personalized ads, iOS will show you Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt the first time you open the App. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized using cross-app tracking data. You can change your choice anytime in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Android Advertising ID. On Android, you may opt out of interest-based/personalized advertising, or reset your advertising ID, via your device's Settings > Google > Ads.
Non-personalized ads. Where required by law (e.g., for users in the EEA/UK who do not consent, or where Apple ATT permission is declined), we configure AdMob to serve non-personalized ads instead.
4. Permissions and Device Features
Notifications: We use push and in-app notifications (e.g., focus session reminders, mood check-in prompts) to enhance your experience. You can disable these anytime in your device settings.
We only request device permissions necessary for the App's features. We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, or location unless a specific feature requires it and you've granted explicit permission for that purpose.
5. Payments and Monetization
Moodoro offers optional subscriptions ("Moodoro+") processed exclusively through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Apple and Google act as the merchants of record and handle all payment processing. We do not receive, process, or store your payment card details — this information is held solely by Apple/Google in accordance with their own privacy policies.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data for money. We share limited data with the following categories of third parties:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf (e.g., Firebase/Google Cloud, as described in Section 7), under confidentiality obligations;
- Google AdMob, to serve and measure advertising as described in Section 3. Under California law (CCPA/CPRA), this may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising — see Section 8 for how to opt out;
- Apple or Google, solely to process subscription payments;
- When required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of Moodoro, our users, or others;
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Mood data is never shared with AdMob or used for ad personalization — see Section 2.
7. Data Storage and Security
User data is stored using Firebase and Google Cloud Platform. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention: We retain your account and mood data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, dispute resolution).
8. Your Rights
You can access, edit, or delete your account and associated data directly within the App at any time.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, UK, or Switzerland (GDPR), you additionally have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Request correction or deletion of your data;
- Restrict or object to certain processing;
- Request a portable copy of your data;
- Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior lawful processing);
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident (CCPA/CPRA), you additionally have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose;
- Request deletion of your personal information;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. Moodoro does not sell personal information for money. Our use of Google AdMob for advertising may be considered "sharing" under CCPA/CPRA — you can opt out of personalized ads via your device's ad settings described in Section 3, or by contacting us;
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
9. Children's Privacy
Moodoro is not intended for children under 13 (or under 16 where required by local law, such as in parts of the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under this age. If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at [email protected].
10. International Users and Data Transfers
Moodoro is available globally. Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than your own — including the United States, where our service providers (Firebase/Google Cloud) operate — which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.
11. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Firebase / Google Cloud Platform — data storage, authentication, analytics (Google Privacy Policy)
- Google Analytics — usage analytics
- Google AdMob — in-app advertising (Google Ads/AdMob Privacy & Terms)
- Apple App Store / Google Play Store — subscription billing and payment processing
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated within the App and/or by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
